CZ LOKO penetrates another market

10.10.2010

On 13. 9.2010, a contract for the ČME3 locomotive modernization was signed in Riga for the Latvian state railway, the „Latvijas dzelzceļš“ (LDz). The contract was signed by Mr. Josef Bárta, the chairman of the Board of Directors and, director general of CZ LOKO, and by Mr. Aivars Muravski, the chairman of the Board of Directors and director general of LDz ritošā sastāva serviss“ - a subsidiary of the LDz companies for which it ensures maintenance and all repairs of railway rail vehicles.

As mentioned above, the Contract Subject includes ensurance and realization of complex innovation of the first ČME3 type locomotive of the Latvian railways. The signed technical design of the locomotive modernization, therefore also the negotiated scope of the CZ LOKO deliveries, corresponds more or less to the scope that was realized at deliveries of the modernization packets for Lithuania; the only difference is that the Caterpillar 3512C motor will be used for the locomotive. Latvia has thus become another market where the CZ LOKO company managed to penetrate. After the already mentioned Lithuania, it is already the second Baltic state, an EU member. All this is happening within the partial strategy of the firm that is, as a priority, oriented to the Baltic states and to other eastern territories. It can be expected that in case CZ LOCO manages to realize the recently negotiated contractual obligations - to modernize the first “swallow” for LDz successfully and in proper terms, it will be the very best stepping stone for potential cooperation in the future, i.e. also for realization of other deliveries for this Customer.
